Why the 10/40 Window
It is where most of the world's unreached people groups live. It is where following Jesus costs the most and where poverty runs deepest. So that is where we go.
A letter from Denise
Dear friend,
I first shared the gospel on the radio in northern Uganda, during the Lord's Resistance Army war. Those were hard days. God was faithful in them.
Then the South Sudan war came, and refugees poured across the border into the camps of the West Nile. I could not stay away. I went back.
The women I sit with there are raising children alone. Many are still teenagers. They are not a cause to me. They are my sisters. We pray together, we open the Word together, and we build churches together.
Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." That is still the work. Thank you for going with me.
Your sister in Christ,
Denise

MISSION 1040 with Denise Carlsen
Because we love God, and we love all others
That is our motto, and it is the whole of our method.
We preach the gospel because Jesus commanded it: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:18-20).
We feed the hungry, house the orphan and sit with the grieving because He also said, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:34-35).
Word and deed belong together. We don't choose between them.

Most of us will never stand in a West Nile camp. But you can stand behind the people who do. Become a monthly partner, and pray with us.
